ZERO POINT FIXTURING
Craftsman Tools' zero point fixturing is a quick-change spring-hydraulic clamping system that greatly increases the efficiency of setting up and changing workpieces during machining processes.
Suitable for automated and robotic loading and unloading, zero point fixtures ensure that the top plate is placed in the correct location every time an operation is set up. Duplicate top plates allow subsequent parts to be set up off the machine, with changeover then completed in seconds, rather than hours.
All sub plates can be interchanged equally quickly. This makes zero point fixtures effective at minimising changeover time of the fixture or part, enabling an increase in machine running time by up to 90%.
HOW IT WORKS
ACTUATION METHODS
Hydraulic - Manual Coupling
Clamped by integrated springs, released by hydraulic pressure. Typically supplied with a quick release banjo style coupling.
Pneumatic - Manual Coupling
Clamped by integrated springs, released by pneumatic pressure. Typically supplied with a quick release banjo style coupling.
Mechanical - Mechanical Coupling
Mechanical open and close. Typically operated using a torque wrench.
Hydraulic - Automatic Coupling
Typically double acting; can be integrated with machine controls.
Pneumatic - Automated Coupling
Typically double acting; can be integrated with machine controls.
